Our Inspiration

The hostels commemorate the inspirational life of Lt. Shri Jaichandlalji Karwa (popularly known as Bhaiji), the patriarch of the Karwa family, who made invaluable contributions to the progress of Maheshwari community.

Born in the year 1917 in a small village Sardi in Rajasthan, Bhaiji lost his parents at an early age. His quest for livelihood took him first to Biratnagar (Nepal) & Kolkata & then finally to Mumbai. Bhaiji was ambitious & industrious yet led a very simple life. His wisdom, maturity & composure made him a flagbearer amongst fellow Maheshwaris & a landing pad for people shifting to Mumbai & Kolkata.
