Bhaiji was prudent & diligent in all spheres. That brought him in close association with the Bangur & Somani groups. He, aided by his family, eventually set up his own business, trading in a wide array of products ranging from sugar, jute, yarn, fabric, paper, cement, copper wire etc. & across Mumbai, Delhi & Kolkata. He commenced construction in partnership with Somanis (& then Bangurs) & built some of the iconic buildings then in Mumbai including Jeevan Vihar (Malabar Hills, Mumbai in 1960), Nirmal (Nariman Point, Mumbai in 1963) & Rajendra Ratna (Goregaon-West in 1971). He conceived & developed the sprawling Bangur Nagar & Mahesh Nagar housing projects in Goregaon, Mumbai.
